We are very excited to be able to tell you that from January 2022 Health Futures UTC is due to join the Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust, an established multi-academy Trust with schools across the Black Country area of the West Midlands.

Shireland Collegiate Academy in Smethwick is the founding school of Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust. This Academy has a national reputation for innovation, collaboration and inspiring individuals.

Joining the Trust will inevitably mean some changes for our school; however, we believe that this will have a positive impact on everyone at Health Futures. We will make sure that we keep you up to date on what this will mean for our students, so that the transition is as smooth as possible.

When we join the Trust the school will change its name to Shireland Biomedical UTC. This reflects us becoming part of Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust and will clearly show the type of secondary education that we offer.

The other main change is that from September 2022 we will open for a cohort of Year 7 to start with us. These students will move up the school as we take on one more year group each academic year.  This also means that we will not have an intake into year 10 after this year although we will continue to take students into our sixth form.

We hope that these changes will move the school forward and help us to progress in a positive way so that we can fulfil the potential that we all know it has.
