As a health and science based school all of our KS4 students have the opportunity to take triple science.  All three sciences are offered at A level along with level 3 applied science.

The curriculum at Health Futures is designed around care values and, in addition to their academic studies, our students complete projects which are designed with our employer partners and enable students to develop their employability skills.  All projects embed a science element where students apply their scientific knowledge to problem solving. 

You will be an outstanding teacher of biology and will work with our subject leader and the team of specialist science teachers to design and deliver the science curriculum to meet the needs and interests of our students, ensuring that they achieve the highest possible academic standards whilst supporting our clear ethos and focus. The ability to also teach psychology to A Level would be a distinct advantage.  Full or part time contracts will also be considered.

All of our staff are involved in these projects, which add an exciting dimension to the curriculum.

Health Futures UTC governing body currently has a vacancy for a parent governor to serve for a period of up to 4 years. Joining the UTC governing body as a parent member offers you the opportunity to make a real contribution to the life and work of Health Futures UTC.

 The Health Futures UTC Governing Body aims to ensure that students are attending a successful school, which provides them with a good education and supports their well-being. Members play a key role in supporting the strategic leadership of the school, the raising of standards, overseeing the budget and monitoring progress in the curriculum. Being a member can be very rewarding and will provide you with the opportunity to work as part of a team and gain new skills. Don’t worry if you have no experience, as full training and support is available.

 Please note that the most important duty of any governor is to attend meetings of the governing body and you should be sure that you are committed and available to do this before applying. At Health Futures UTC the governing body meets 4 times per year. Meetings usually start around 4:00pm.

Health Futures is an exciting new school which opened in a multi-million pound building in September 2015. We are pleased to offer an outstanding individual the opportunity to join us as we go into the spring term of our fourth year. As a health and science focused school you can expect state of the art facilities and students who are keen to learn science in order to follow a range of careers in health and medical fields.

Established with the backing of the University of Wolverhampton and in partnership with a wide range of health sector employer partners, including all West Midlands NHS Trusts, WM Ambulance Service and the Mid-counties Co-operative Pharmacy, Health Futures is responding to the identified skills gap that is preventing local young people taking up the varied and valuable career paths in this sector.

Health Futures UTC has vacancies for a number of Exam Invigilators. The majority of hours will be worked, as and when required, during May and June each year although there is the opportunity to assist with mock exams at other times during the year.

The invigilator plays a crucial role in the smooth running of exams. The school is seeking applicants who are calm and responsible. All exams take place within the guidelines set down by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and training will be given to the successful candidates. Preferably with an educational background or an interest in education, the successful candidates will relate positively to all learners, be extremely reliable and flexible with good verbal communication skills, and comfortable addressing large groups of students.

Examinations start at 9.00 am and would require invigilators to be on site for 8.30 am. Afternoon examinations commence at 1.30 pm so invigilators need to be on site by 1.00 pm.

All staff are responsible for the welfare and safeguarding of our pupils, therefore, this post is subject to enhanced DBS and prohibition checks.
