Job Title: Triage Manager x 2

Start Date: September 2019

We are looking to appoint 2 confident and enthusiastic individuals to run the Triage section of the new Health Futures Practical Suite

Person Specification:

The successful individual will possess the following skills and qualities

  • Attitude to learning grades of 2’s or higher throughout all subjects
  • Excellent professional conduct at all times
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to use initiative and make decisions
  • Able to prioritise and manage own time
  • Able to deal with highly stressful situations
  • Good understanding of IT and technology

Job description:

  • Running the Triage section of the Health Futures Practical Suite
  • Ability to research and develop an understanding of patient treatment for minor traumatic injuries e.g. cuts, wounds
  • Maintain accurate patient records on the treatment that you have provided
  • Bandaging and treating wounds
  • Basic routine measurements and the ability to interpret these
  • Undertake research on a topic of interest in the medical field and present this to a panel of your peers and colleagues
  • Treating emergency patients that may be brought into the Triage area
  • Ability to make decisions about whether patients are discharged or admitted to the ward
  • Reporting to the ward manager on a regular basis
  • Updating patient files when required
  • Maintain relationships with the patient’s family and manage complex and sensitive information in a manner that is appropriate to the situation.

Job Title: Scenario Manager x 2

Start Date: September 2019

We are looking to appoint 2 confident and enthusiastic individuals to develop and support the practical scenario sessions with our year 10’s and 12’s

Person Specification:

The successful individual will possess the following skills and qualities

  • Attitude to learning grades of 2’s or higher throughout all subjects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to use initiative and make decisions
  • Able to prioritise and manage own time
  • Able to deal with highly stressful situations
  • Good understanding of IT and technology

Job description:

  • Write scenarios that can be delivered to year 10 and year 12
  • Attend Health and Social Care Department meetings to propose new scenarios and to feedback on their successes
  • Work closely with the HSC team to implement these scenarios
  • Run the scenarios with the various groups with the support of the teaching staff
  • Observe the students taking part in their scenarios
  • Liaise with other members of staff in the practical suite to develop scenarios that incorporate all areas.

Successful candidates will receive full training in the use of the equipment

We are looking to appoint 2 confident and enthusiastic individuals to lead the new reception area of the Health Futures Practical Suite.

Person Specification:

The successful individual will possess the following skills and qualities

  • Attitude to learning of 2’s or higher throughout all subjects
  • An ability to work in a busy environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
  • Good communication skills with an ability to communicate with a range of individuals
  • Confident using the phone
  • Organisational skills
  • Accurate and methodical
  • Able to work as part of a team but also as an individual

Job description:

  • Responsibility for patient files
  • Checking patients in to the practical area and ensuring that they are directed to the correct areas
  • Taking patient details in accordance with GDPR
  • Copy information such as temperature, pulse rate and blood pressure onto patients medical records
  • To keep the ward diary up to date
  • Provide effective communication with service users, staff and others
  • Identifying issues of concern at work to the ward manager and HOD of Health and Social Care
  • Presenting a positive image of the team to the local community
  • Carrying out any additional projects as provided by the Ward Manager
  • Communicate with the second ward clerk to ensure that a smooth hand over can take place

Successful candidates will be fully trained in the use of the equipment.
